“The Coolest Club You Never Wanted To Join”

UniquelyMothering of Fairfield County is a supportive community for moms grappling with their child’s developmental differences.

Since January 2021, UniquelyMothering has been a safe haven for moms to connect with others sharing similar parenting journeys. Our support groups and events offer a space filled with understanding, empathy, and validation. When you connect with UniquelyMothering, you will immediately be welcomed into the club with open arms, an array of resources, guidance, and a sense of belonging that is essential for mothers navigating the unique challenges of parenting an atypical child.

UniquelyMothering was started by Jenna Guja. Jenna lives in Westport with her husband and two children. Her older child went through Birth to Three, received supplemental early intervention services, and attended Westport’s public preschool with an IEP. Like many moms connected to UniquelyMothering, Jenna experienced a range of complex emotions and feelings of intense social isolation in those early years. When she started to meet other moms at Stepping Stones with similar stories, she realized a space was needed for mothers of children in early intervention to connect. Soon after, UniquelyMothering was born. In addition to her personal experience, Jenna holds a master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University and previously worked as a school social worker in New York City charter schools.
